The JANSEN® HS-22A62 is a heavy-duty and robust gasoline-powered log splitter with 22 metric tons of measured splitting force and a maximum splitting length of 62 cm. The hydraulic system is powered by a 6.5 PS / 4.8 kW KOHLER 4-stroke OHV gasoline engine.
A key advantage of the HS-22A62 is its flexible operation: The log splitter can be operated both in an upright position and in a horizontal position. This allows the working position to be adjusted to the wood being processed and the specific work situation.
The splitting force of our log splitters is measured directly at the splitting wedge. The specified 22 metric tons therefore corresponds to the splitting force actually measured there.

22 metric tons of measured splitting force
The JANSEN® HS-22A62 achieves a splitting force of 22 metric tons. The measurement is taken directly at the splitting wedge and thus reflects the actual splitting force applied there.
The maximum splitting length is 62 cm. The standard splitting wedge has a length of 30 cm.
Splitting in an upright or horizontal position
The HS-22A62 can be operated in both upright and horizontal positions. This provides two different working positions.
In the upright position, the dimensions are approximately 218 x 106 x 182 cm. In the horizontal position, the log splitter measures approximately 220 x 106 x 128 cm.
With a total width of approximately 106 cm, the log splitter can also be transported on a suitable trailer.
KOHLER 6.5 PS Gasoline Engine
The JANSEN® HS-22A62 comes equipped with a KOHLER 4-stroke OHV gasoline engine. The engine delivers 6.5 PS / 4.8 kW and is started via a recoil starter.
Regular gasoline is used as fuel. The tank holds approximately 3.6 liters, and the specified fuel consumption is approximately 1.0–1.2 liters per hour.
KOHLER Engines
KOHLER is a long-established American engine manufacturer that produces engines for a variety of machines and devices. The HS-22A62 is equipped with a high-quality KOHLER gasoline engine.
30 cm long splitting wedge
The mounted splitting wedge is 30 cm long. Thanks to the wedge’s length, the wood is split over a correspondingly long distance.
Additionally, a 30 cm-long splitting cross is included in the scope of delivery, which can be slid over the existing splitting wedge. This allows for a quick switch between the splitting wedge and the splitting cross.
Flexibly controllable hydraulics
The HS-22A62’s hydraulic system allows the splitting wedge to be stopped at various positions. From there, it can be moved either forward or backward as desired.
This means the splitting wedge does not have to be fully retracted to its starting position after every operation.
A full downward stroke of the cylinder takes approximately 8 seconds, according to the specifications.
Transport & Maneuvering
The HS-22A62 is equipped with a drawbar and hitch, allowing it to be moved and maneuvered at the work site. The maximum specified towing speed is 25 km/h.
Please note: The log splitter is not street-legal and therefore must not be towed behind a passenger car on public roads in Germany. For road transport, the unit can be loaded onto a trailer using suitable ramps, for example.

Delivery & Setup
The JANSEN® HS-22A62 is delivered well-protected and partially disassembled in a wooden crate. Allow approximately 3–4 hours for final assembly.
Due to the weight of the individual components, assembly should be performed by at least two people. A German operating manual is included with the delivery.
For the initial fill, approximately 9.5 liters of hydraulic oil of HLP46 classification is required. Approximately 1 liter of engine oil is required for the engine. A multigrade oil of 10W40 or 15W40 classification is recommended.
