The JANSEN® HS-22A62E is a heavy-duty, robustly built electric log splitter with 22 metric tons of measured splitting force and a maximum splitting length of 62 cm. The hydraulic system is powered by a 2.2 kW 400V electric motor (16 A).
The electric motor and hydraulic pump are designed to work in harmony, enabling high hydraulic splitting performance despite the motor’s comparatively modest power output. At the same time, the electric drive allows for quieter operation compared to the gasoline-powered version.
A key advantage of the HS-22A62E is its flexible operation: The log splitter can be operated both in an upright position and in a horizontal position. This allows the working position to be adapted to the wood being processed and the specific work situation.
The splitting force of our log splitters is measured directly at the splitting wedge. The specified 22 metric tons therefore corresponds to the splitting force actually measured there.

22 metric tons measured splitting force
The JANSEN® HS-22A62E achieves a splitting force of 22 metric tons. The measurement is taken directly at the splitting wedge and thus reflects the actual splitting force applied there.
The maximum splitting length is 62 cm. Combined with the 30 cm-long splitting wedge and the robust hydraulic system, the wood splitter is designed to process firewood of this length.
Splitting in an upright or horizontal position
The HS-22A62E can be operated both in an upright position and in a horizontal position. This provides two different working positions.
In the upright position, the dimensions are approximately 218 x 106 x 182 cm. In the horizontal position, the log splitter measures approx. 220 x 106 x 128 cm.
With a total width of approx. 106 cm, the log splitter can also be transported on a suitable trailer.
400V electric motor with 2.2 kW
The hydraulic pump of the JANSEN® HS-22A62E is driven by a 400V electric motor with 2.2 kW. A corresponding 16-A power supply is required for connection.
The coordination between the electric motor and the hydraulic pump enables a high hydraulic splitting force of 22 metric tons. At the same time, the electric drive offers quieter operation compared to a gasoline engine.
30 cm Splitting Wedge & Splitting Cross
The HS-22A62E is equipped with a 30 cm long splitting wedge. Additionally, a 30 cm long splitting cross is included in the scope of delivery.
The splitting cross is slid over the existing splitting wedge, allowing for a quick switch between the splitting wedge and the splitting cross.
When using the splitting cross, please note that the log diameters that can be processed may be smaller than when working with the standard splitting wedge.
Flexibly Controllable Hydraulics
The hydraulic system of the JANSEN® HS-22A62E allows the splitting wedge to be stopped in various positions. From there, it can be moved either forward or backward as desired.
This means that, for example, when working with shorter pieces of wood, the splitting wedge does not need to be fully retracted to its starting position after every work cycle. Unnecessary idle travel can thus be reduced.
A full downward stroke of the cylinder is specified to take approximately 8 seconds.
Transport & Maneuvering
The HS-22A62E features a towing drawbar and hitch, allowing it to be moved and maneuvered at the job site. The maximum specified towing speed is 25 km/h.
Please note: The log splitter is not street-legal and therefore must not be towed behind a passenger car on public roads in Germany.
For transport on public roads, the machine can, for example, be loaded onto a suitable trailer using appropriate ramps and secured accordingly.

Delivery & Commissioning
The JANSEN® HS-22A62E is delivered well-protected and partially disassembled in a wooden crate. Allow approximately 3–4 hours for final assembly.
Due to the weight of the individual components, assembly should be performed by at least two people. A German operating manual and exploded view diagrams are included with the delivery.
Approx. 9.5 liters of hydraulic oil are additionally required for the initial fill.HLP46 hydraulic oil is recommended.
