JANSEN® RD-500 Tracked Dump Truck – 500 kg Payload & Hydrostatic Drive

The JANSEN® RD-500 is a self-propelled crawler dumper with hydrostatic drive, a hydraulically tilting bed, and a maximum payload of 500 kg on level ground. Thanks to its track drive, the dumper is particularly well-suited for transporting materials on uneven and difficult terrain.

The RD-500 is powered by a Loncin G270F 4-stroke gasoline engine with 10 PS and a displacement of 270 ccm. Two speed settings are available for both forward and reverse operation, at approximately 2.5 and 4.9 km/h, respectively.

The equipment also includes a hydraulically tilting dump bed and a sturdy, foldable driver’s platform. The dump bed’s tilt angle is more than 90°, which facilitates the unloading of the loaded material.

Key advantages

  • Maximum payload of 500 kg on level ground
  • Hydrostatic drive
  • Loncin G270F 4-stroke gasoline engine
  • 10 PS and 270 ccm displacement
  • Self-propelled tracked dumper with track drive
  • Two forward and reverse speed settings
  • Travel speeds of approx. 2.5 and 4.9 km/h
  • Hydraulically tilting body
  • Tipping angle of the dump body exceeding 90°
  • Reinforced dump body with 3 mm wall thickness
  • Straight dump body discharge
  • Sturdy, foldable operator platform
  • For sand, soil, gravel, stones, and other suitable materials
  • Machine width of approx. 72 cm

Hydrostatic drive

A key feature of the JANSEN® RD-500 is the hydrostatic drive. Unlike a conventional mechanical transmission, power is transmitted hydraulically.

The hydrostatic drive enables controlled movement and offers various advantages when operating the crawler dumper:

  • Infinitely variable speed control within the selected drive range
  • Linear drive movement
  • High torque
  • Fast-acting overload protection
  • Capable of starting from a standstill under load
  • Low mechanical wear in the drivetrain
  • Low-maintenance design

Two speed ranges in forward and reverse

The JANSEN® RD-500 features two speed settings for both forward and reverse. This allows the travel speed to be adjusted to the specific work situation.

  • Forward speed 1: approx. 2.5 km/h
  • Forward speed 2: approx. 4.9 km/h
  • Reverse speed 1: approx. 2.5 km/h
  • Reverse speed 2: approx. 4.9 km/h

This allows the RD-500 to reach a maximum speed of approx. 4.9 km/h both forward and backward.

Hydraulic tipping body with a tilt angle of more than 90°

The RD-500’s body is raised and lowered via a hydraulic power unit and a hydraulic cylinder. The lifting and lowering process takes just a few seconds.

A special feature is the large tipping angle: The body can be tipped to an angle of more than 90°. This aids in emptying the body and makes it easier to dump the transported material.

The reinforced body has a wall thickness of 3 mm and features a straight discharge edge. The body rises toward the rear and has dimensions of approx. 940 x 670 x 450/640 mm.

Note regarding the product video: The dumper shown in the product video is a previous model and does not yet feature the tipping capability of the current version, which exceeds 90°.

Up to 500 kg payload

On level ground, the JANSEN® RD-500 can be loaded with up to 500 kg. As the incline increases, the maximum payload decreases accordingly.

  • Flat terrain: up to 500 kg payload
  • 17% or approx. 10° incline: up to 450 kg payload
  • 30% or approx. 17° incline: up to 375 kg payload

The load should therefore always be adjusted to the respective terrain and incline conditions.

Track drive for uneven terrain

Thanks to its track drive, the RD-500 is designed for use on uneven terrain. It can also handle inclines—provided the corresponding reduction in payload capacity is taken into account.

With a machine width of approximately 720 mm or 72 cm, the tracked dumper remains compact. Ground clearance is approximately 110 mm at the front and 90 mm at the rear.

Foldable operator platform

The JANSEN® RD-500 is equipped with a sturdy operator platform. This allows the operator to ride on the machine while it is in motion.

If the platform is not needed, it can be folded upward. This also changes the machine’s overall length: With the footrest extended, it is approximately 1,900 mm, and without the footrest, approximately 1,700 mm.

10 PS Loncin G270F Gasoline Engine

Power is provided by a Loncin G270F 4-stroke gasoline engine with 10 PS and a displacement of 270 ccm. The engine runs on regular gasoline and is started via a recoil starter.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 5.5 liters. The engine oil capacity is approximately 1 liter.

For various transport tasks

The JANSEN® RD-500 is designed to transport a variety of suitable materials. These include, for example:

  • Sand
  • Soil
  • Gravel
  • Rocks
  • Other suitable bulk and transport materials

The combination of a tracked undercarriage, hydrostatic drive, hydraulic tipping bed, and operator platform enables versatile use in a variety of transport applications.
